This felted music learning activity board has two activities, one on each side of the board. You can create hundreds of imaginative storytelling sessions to help children to understand how what they see on the score correlates to the piano keyboard. I use it daily when teaching my younger beginner students; it works like magic every time! This is a very colourful, versatile and child-friendly learning tool.

Activity 1:
The first activity helps orienteering on the piano keyboard.
The tri-fold activity board visually divides the great staff into four sections: space, sky, earth and ocean. The children can decorate the staff with fun characters and objects which are included. You can then show them how notes progress from the lowest pitch (the ocean) to the highest (the space)! I find this activity an excellent ice-breaker even with the most shy children.

The A of a sub-contra octave (A0) to E of a Greate Octave (E2) is the ocean.
The F of a Great Octave (F2) to C of a First Octave (C4) is the earth.
The Middle C of a First Octave (C4) to G the second octave (G5) is the sky.
The A of the Second Octave (A5) to D of the Third Octave (D6) and beyond is the space.

Activity 2:
This activity encourages note recognition, remembering the music alphabet in the Treble and Bass clefs, and recognition of some simple intervals. Position a felted note on the stave and ask your child to identify the correct key by placing the corresponding letter on it and vice versa. Alternatively, practice the rememberance of mnemonic acronyms by placing the letters on the stave and ask the child to place felted dots on the correlating keys on the felted keyboard. These are only a couple of examples of many games you can come up with.

Each product is made to order. The materials are cardboard, fabric, felt and polymer clay. Not suitable for washing or dry cleaning. Some wear and tear should be expected due to soft materials, especially if used heavily. The actual product's colours may vary slightly from what you see due to the variance in the resolution of your phone/laptop.
